Doctors Thomas Yearwood and Hunt Hapworth of Comprehensive Pain and Rehabilitation (CPR) announce the newest addition to their team of physicians, Dr. Matthew Barfield.
As a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist, Dr. Barfield specializes in interventional musculoskeletal medicine, electrodiagnostic medicine as well as acute and chronic pain management. Specifically, he has advanced training in diagnosing and treating pain and restoring maximum function lost through injury, illness or disabling conditions.
“As a native of the area I’m excited to be able to care for the physical rehab and pain needs of the community,” says Barfield. “My goal is to halt the progression of a patient’s chronic pain or, if possible, reverse it.”
Dr. Barfield received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at BaylorUniversity Medical Center in Dallas, TX. A Doctor of Osteopathy is much like a traditional M.D., but receives additional training in the body's musculoskeletal system, taking a more holistic approach by looking at the body as a complete system.
